voyage -update: From Lerwick to Dublin

🌊 From Lerwick to Dublin: Collaboration, resilience and learning at sea.

⛵ The last few days have Sørlandet sailed from Lerwick in Shetland to Dublin, and what a journey it has been! We have experienced everything from sunshine and calm to 5-6 metre high Atlantic swells, fresh breezes and gusts of up to 50 knots. Along the way we anchored in beautiful Red Bay on the east coast of Northern Ireland to seek shelter from the weather, and navigated through the stunning landscapes of the Hebrides and The Minch.

👏 What impresses me most is how quickly our students adapt to life at sea. They take responsibility, show courage and support each other – even when the conditions are tough and the wind blows us away from our destination. The sense of community and achievement grows every day, and it is clear that these experiences build both confidence and new skills. Now we are safely moored in Dublin, ready for new adventures – and grateful to have arrived before the next round of strong winds in the Irish Sea.

🤝 Thank you to everyone on board for your efforts, spirit and determination!
