" Sørlandet " has arrived in Funchal, Madeira

" Sørlandet " arrived in Funchal on Madeira on Sunday 14 November 2021 with 78 people on board, 59 of whom are our students who attend A+ World Academy. The stay should give the students a good learning outcome before they go on to Las Palmas on 18 November.

The plan for the stay in Madeira of course includes land leave on the first and second day. The ship's Diving Club goes diving on Monday. On Tuesday and Wednesday, some of the students go on a "hike" to Fontes in the morning and in the afternoon they have an "Art Workshop" at the Art Center Caravel Gallery. When they are not at any of the activities, they participate in the operation of the ship or have free time on board. All excursions are always accompanied by two teachers, and there is always a "Teacher on Duty" and a "Teacher on Call".

When the Norwegian The Ship Sørlandet needed a new ship's deck, a very special material was found in the forests around Elverum. The centuries-old pine forest there contains trees with a core of naturally impregnated wood, perfect for withstanding the marine environment.
