SØRLANDET is back on Sørlandet

Wednesday 16 December was SØRLANDET towed from Storesuns Marine Services in Skudeneshan to GOT in Mandal for repairs. After 4 months in Storesund Marine Services' dry dock in Skudeneshavn, SØRLANDET towed to GOT in Mandal. After extensive restoration of the hull and preparations for restoration of the engine room, the next works will be carried out by GOT in Mandal.

At GOT, the ship will have the new engines in place, a sewage treatment system will be installed, the ventilation will be renewed and the bathroom to be renovated. It turns out that the ship also has to renew the electrical installations quite significantly - almost like a new building.

We expect that the work together with the installation of the rig will continue throughout the spring.

When the Norwegian The Ship Sørlandet needed a new ship's deck, a very special material was found in the forests around Elverum.
