Package list

Package list

The most important things to keep in mind when packing are waterproof and windproof. Even though it is summer, it can be cold at sea, especially on night shifts. Here is a list of what we recommend:

There is limited space for personal equipment on board. Think carefully about what you pack. Each trainee has a ship's chest. In addition, you get to share a closet with another. This provides space for two small packages per person. It is convenient if you pack in bags or sacks that can be folded and stored away. At sea, the weather can change. It is therefore important that you are properly dressed. Below we have put together a list of useful personal equipment.

  • Passport. Always remember to bring your passport. This also applies to Norwegian citizens when the ship runs between Norwegian ports.
  • Light / thin sleeping bag
  • Warm and waterproof clothes
  • Lue
  • Mittens
  • Toiletries
  • Sunscreen
  • Sunglasses
  • Shoes with good rubber soles or boots
  • Towel
  • Personal medication
  • Mobile charger
  • Small backpack, for a trip on land, in case we anchor up
  • Stain-resistant clothing
  • Pack in a bag that fits in your closet. The cabinet holds 120 liters
  • A small lock for your closet if you want this (can also be bought on board)
  • Lost glasses can ruin your trip. Use string to secure them.

If you play an instrument, feel free to bring it.

Do not bring this with you
  • Arms,
  • Flammable material,
  • Drugs of all kinds,
  • Foods.
  • You can bring the necessary medication along with the doctor's statement and or prescription.
Kiosk on board

In the kiosk you can buy snacks, chocolate goods, bottled water, toiletries and souvenirs.

Washing facilities

Unfortunately, there is no washing facilities for washing clothes on board. By voyage over the duration of one week, contact the sergeant for access to the washing machine.

Mobile phone and power

The mobile phone has no coverage when we are in the open sea. Should a situation arise where contact with land is necessary, the ship and the office are helpful. We have 220 V power supply.

Seasickness and drugs

Remember to notify the sergeant and duty manager on board if you are taking seasickness tablets or a seasickness patch (we recommend patch is available on prescription). When using seasickness medication, you can not participate in rig climbing for a certain time after ingestion. 6 hours after taking the last tablet and 12 hours after taking the seasickness patch. In the sea when the ship sails, we have a "dry" ship, ie a ban on alcohol. We have 0 tolerance for alcohol use for trainees under 18 years, also in foreign ports.
