Planning for the 100th anniversary has begun!
The Ship Sørlandet will be 100 years old in 2027! With us on the team we have an experienced lady with a big heart for the school ship Sørlandet She will lead the planning work.
It is with great excitement that we can announce that planning for the school ship Sørlandets 100th anniversary has begun! This is a unique opportunity to pay tribute to one of Norway's most iconic sailing ships, which has educated countless sailors and represented our country on the oceans. She is the world's oldest full rigged ship in active operation and the most original of the three great sailing ships Norway has. Today, she brings the school ship traditions into our new era where students have an educational journey where they receive secondary education, international experience, cooperation and social development.
We are so lucky to have Sylvia Jacobsen on board as project manager for the anniversary planning. She has experience from leading Tall Ships Races Arendal in 2023. With her experience and enthusiasm, we are sure that this will be a celebration for the history books!
Stay tuned for more information on how you can join the celebration. We look forward to sharing more about our plans in the near future!
