Chef – The Ship Sørlandet
Would you like to work as a chef on board one of Norway's most unique sailing ships?
The Ship Sørlandet is looking for a committed and structured chef who wants to be part of an international and dynamic environment at sea.
We have a long-term temporary position starting on July 13th in Antwerp.
About the position
As a chef about At the table you are responsible for preparing good, healthy and varied meals for crew, students and trainees In addition, you will contribute to food service in connection with events and customer activities. The role requires flexibility, good collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively in a sometimes fast pace.
Work tasks
- Responsible for running the galley and preparing all meals
- Ensure good routines for cleaning, hygiene, handling and storage of food in accordance with current regulations
- Contribute to planning menus in collaboration with the steward
- Participate in sanitation work together with the steward
- Assist in training and mentoring apprentices and students
Qualifications
Health certificate
Valid basic safety course, IMO 50
Passenger and crisis management course
Certificate of good conduct
Certificate as a chef
- Relevant and varied experience from the profession
- Ability to work structured and independently in a sometimes hectic environment
- Good collaboration skills and experience working with people, preferably young people
- Experience from maritime operations is an advantage

- The position is covered by the tariff (NOR agreement + special agreement for sailing ships)
- A valid certificate of good conduct for working with youth is a requirement.
